child bride??!!

There is this article about a child bride in war ravaged afghanisthan and people are liked shocked to read it... just wondering abt situation in india where surely child marriages are practiced atleast in some remote villages and even in the presence of some ministers in some of the states...

read in a magazine abt a village in north karnataka where still the so called lower caste people are not allowed to touch the lake waters monitored by higher caste people... I remember that the dalits were not allowed to enter the only temple in my grandma's village... and even in some of 'sacred' temples, brahmins and other caste people have lunch separately...

so much in the 'shining' india...

some say the problems are decreasing..these are far and few cases... but i think we r just used to it... there still is a india which lives in the 19th century...

The first post

Got bored sitting in a cage-like cubicle doing nothing for so long that I decided to venture out for a blog. was inspired by vishnu's blog which for unknown reason he has stopped updating.

I think more than half of india's IT 'professionals' will be sitting empty at any given point of time and get paid quite heftily at the end of the month!!! so much for the hope and anticipation of an incoming project.

Among other things, am really in awe for google. They seem to be just everywhere these days from news to finance to even mars. Their blog is quite amazing to see how they are gobbling up of anything interesting they find -- recently @Last Software for SketchUp and Upstartle for Writely.
