Hogenakal calling...
Another 4 days of holiday??!! wow
Saw movies on thursday. We thought of going to hogenakal on friday but situation in the city meant we have to wait till saturday...
finally saturday came and i woke up to hear mr.tc fully charged and yelling at everybody to get up. Later we found tht we were one vehicle short with mama's and jv's bike unfit for such a long run... so frantically called gunda and found him dozing off a hangover somewhere near navrang. so got ready and everyone left the room arnd 6, drew some money at atm , collected the bike and finally headed towards hosur road after some moments of searching.
me,bhuni,jv and mama reached hosur and found out a nearer road to hogenakal but mr.tc, with windu as navigator, was so excited to see the wide and neat roads tht he had went straight ahead 18kms without bothering to wait for us...waited for him to come back and had a pretty good breakfast at one of the hosur's hotel...
The road we took was through palacode and frm there to hogenakal... journey was uneventful until some 10 kms to hogenakal where mr.tc (who else) was so mesmerised by the valley below tht he forgot to see the road only to find the rock ahead.. lucky he or windu were not hurt...
finally reached hogenakal to find it packed with ppl!!! After travelling 150 kms i was expecting a more quieter place.. anyway lot of families were there which meant they will not be getting into water... (never go to watery places with families :) )
rented a teppa (don't know the exact word in english - a round shaped boat for abt 8 ppl) with a guide - kannada speaking tamilian (must b a rare species at tamilnadu :) ) and a masseur for jv & mama.
The place is great with kaveri flowing btn some grand-canyon-type rocks all around... with plenty of small falls.. bathed nicely under one of the falls with fishes biting my feet (nice tingling effect)...
this is the place where the roja's chinna chinna aasai and asoka's san sanaana san was picturised. the guide told us tht only director and cameraman came here to shoot the song. but u can't believe tht when u see the song with a barely-clad kareena dancing on the boat...
everyone except me had parathas there and after couple of stops for tea, nature's call (u know mama!!!) we hit the road to home back soon. Then we realised our asses are refusing to be seated!!! Really it's difficult to travel for 300 kms in a day on the bike!!!
Rushed home with some packed dinner... gobbled it in an instant and hit the bed with all the watery memories from hogenakal.. ofcourse to forget the hurting ass!!!
p.s. take full safety measures if u plan to go there.. especially if you travel during night time. A packed lunch will be great.
