Of course the big three have numbers to show for but to deliver when matter must be another story. A sport for which entire nation (and its expats I might add) looks up to, we don’t have a single major trophy in our cabinet. Warne, I think, is the strongest weapon Australia has among their team of invincible. To keep on bowling long spells at his age, that too of such quality tells a lot about the character that he is. Every ball is a wicket taking one & one moment of lapse of concentration for a batsman can spell doom. Sheer Genius.

Kumble and Murali are more hard-working types, but make no mistake, can single handedly win games for you as they have done on innumerable occasions. First-ever test win in South Africa was surely a moment to savor and Kumble made sure he is the man on whom the captain can depend on. Murali has a greater influence on sri lankan fortunes and it showed when the team management opted to bat first just to give him a go at a fourth inning pitch.

All in all, good cricket going on all around. But disappointed to see ashes getting decided so early. After such a great series last year and the hype this year, England was completely outplayed at the end of each test.

Keep it coming...

sporty people

It’s really disappointing to see the current sports scene in India. My folks may be coming down here to stay with me in those few months time. I seem to recall all those childhood memories - my first tricycle, first gang, first school, first prize, first bicycle & the accident etc etc....I also noticed how laid back and relaxed is the atmosphere there.. those beautiful hilly background.. that sweet tunga water.. those muddy roads.. Also the change time has brought upon our family and the surroundings. From being the little kid crying for every toy I see - to - crying all the way to that preschool - to - that fierce competition for standing first in the class - to - that public exams - to - that student studying far off and - to - being the professional.

So now its time to take some big decisions. No I am not talking about 2001 attack but the attack carried out by Bhagat singh and his freinds during british raj!!!

See how perspective can change one's view abt an event. It seems just natural for englishmen to view this as a terrorist act and prosecute the people responsible for it.

I feel even the epic mahabharata is written from a pandavas/krishna's perspective. I mean who would name their son as 'dur'yodhana or 'du'shyashana (pardon my spelling plz). And this epic should be the only place where running away with ladies cloth while they are bathing, would have viewed as a godly act :) (try that now and you will be killed :-\) And what with 16k wives!!! And killing karna, drona, bheeshma, duryodhana etc all in a sinful way... hmm sure he got away with all those.

so moral of this whole story is you should always step into other's shoes before forming a decision, that is, you should view things in multiple perspectives.

Next time you face an argument, make out what made the other person think like that and then state your opinion. Your opinion will be more valued this way.

See my blog has a good personality improvement tip too :) and don't even charge consultation for that!!!

p.s. We thought of going to hogenakal on friday but situation in the city meant we have to wait till saturday...

finally saturday came and i woke up to hear mr.tc fully charged and yelling at everybody to get up. Later we found tht we were one vehicle short with mama's and jv's bike unfit for such a long run... so frantically called gunda and found him dozing off a hangover somewhere near navrang. so got ready and everyone left the room arnd 6, drew some money at atm , collected the bike and finally headed towards hosur road after some moments of searching.

me,bhuni,jv and mama reached hosur and found out a nearer road to hogenakal but mr.tc, with windu as navigator, was so excited to see the wide and neat roads tht he had went straight ahead 18kms without bothering to wait for us...waited for him to come back and had a pretty good breakfast at one of the hosur's hotel...

The road we took was through palacode and frm there to hogenakal... journey was uneventful until some 10 kms to hogenakal where mr.tc (who else) was so mesmerised by the valley below tht he forgot to see the road only to find the rock ahead.. lucky he or windu were not hurt...

finally reached hogenakal to find it packed with ppl!!! After travelling 150 kms i was expecting a more quieter place.. anyway lot of families were there which meant they will not be getting into water... (never go to watery places with families :) )

rented a teppa (don't know the exact word in english - a round shaped boat for abt 8 ppl) with a guide - kannada speaking tamilian (must b a rare species at tamilnadu :) ) and a masseur for jv & mama.

The place is great with kaveri flowing btn some grand-canyon-type rocks all around... with plenty of small falls.. bathed nicely under one of the falls with fishes biting my feet (nice tingling effect)...

this is the place where the roja's chinna chinna aasai and asoka's san sanaana san was picturised. the guide told us tht only director and cameraman came here to shoot the song. but u can't believe tht when u see the song with a barely-clad kareena dancing on the boat...

everyone except me had parathas there and after couple of stops for tea, nature's call (u know mama!!!) we hit the road to home back soon. Then we realised our asses are refusing to be seated!!! Really it's difficult to travel for 300 kms in a day on the bike!!!

Rushed home with some packed dinner... gobbled it in an instant and hit the bed with all the watery memories from hogenakal.. ofcourse to forget the hurting ass!!!

p.s. take full safety measures if u plan to go there.. especially if you travel during night time. A packed lunch will be great.

The Bangalore racing grandprix!!!

After a 4 days long weekend back at my home town and celebrating ugadi in a 'stomachful' way I am back at bangalore staring at my monitor. Work has started somewhat here and looking forward to spend some quality time at office.

Watched a full F1 grandprix for the first time on sunday and it was quite interesting to see. I think only 13 cars finished the race and jenson button's car caught fire and stopped just 100 mtrs from the finish line!!! just imagine after fighting for your place for 57 laps u find yourself just short of finishing line with no mistake of yours!!!

But after driving nearly 50 kms daily in the busy bangalore 'circuit' for the last couple of months now, in the peak hour traffic through btm layout and silk board junction, I think I am also ready for some racing grandprix!!! :)

jumping the lanes (are there lanes in bangalore!!) , going between 2 BMTC buses with just an inch separating u from them, following autos (bcoz autos can get u out of any traffic jam !!!), hoping against hope that green light will not turn into red until u pass the signal, and switching off the engine at every traffic signal to save the now-all-precious petrol and all at the time avoiding those traffic cops!!!

seems quite an amazing acievement!!! bring that race on I am ready :)

child bride??!!

There is this article about a child bride in war ravaged afghanisthan and people are liked shocked to read it... just wondering abt situation in india where surely child marriages are practiced atleast in some remote villages and even in the presence of some ministers in some of the states...

read in a magazine abt a village in north karnataka where still the so called lower caste people are not allowed to touch the lake waters monitored by higher caste people...
